Your first year of marriage is FULL of adjustments-from learning about each other's quirky habits (like putting syrup in the fridge-true story. LOL.) to getting your love used to your oh-so-attractive morning breath (sorry Tyler!!). Throw in a mix of figuring out taxes, bills, car insurance, where to live, and for some people, finding out they're pregnant...and congratulations. You've got your first year of marraige.
On the flip side, the first year and all the rest of the years that follow are also filled with the most amazing memories. Tyler and I went to Mexico, we bought our first house together, and spent so many nights snuggling while watching the Office and Parks and Rec. I have absolutely loved being married to him. (Not to mention we now have the most adorable tiny human who we are crazy about!)
Which brings me to the point of this whole blog post. (Not the baby...haha.)
Marriage is tough sometimes!! The first year can be crazy and the years that follow aren't always a walk in the park either. But the thing that matters most through it all is the love that you two share.
Think about when you got married...do you remember how you felt when you walked down the aisle towards the love of your life, or when you heard him read the vows that he wrote just for you? Or how it felt just holding each other during your first dance...amazing right? What if you could experience a little taste of that new-love magic (now refined with a little time together) all over again?
Shareya and Steven met me near the top of Bogus Basin and re-read their wedding vows to each other with the gorgeous snowy mountains as their backdrop. It was so romantic, and I couldn't help but smile as I captured every single moment.
That hour we spent together was filled with laughter, hugs, and hearts so full they could burst-especially when they pulled out each of their vows, held hands, and read them aloud to each other. Just like they did on their wedding day.
Their first year probably had ups and downs and everything in between, but in that moment as they read to each other, all that mattered was each other and their love.
Taking the time to slow down and appreciate all that you've accomplished and most of all-to appreciate each other-can be one of the most cherish-able moments in your marriage.
The exciting, newlywed love is amazing...but put that heart-stopping love through a few changes, challenges, and adjustments, and holy crap.
Now you've got a more matured, lasting love that can't be beat. Except by more time.
I loved spending time with Shareya and Steven. It made me want to go home and snuggle my husband!
If you're considering doing an Anniversary Photoshoot, please send me an email and I'll probably cry of happiness. So I guess if you want to make me cry then that's what you should do. :)
Also, check out the rest of these heart-warming pictures from their shoot.
